About HKU Cooperative Education Programme 

The 18-credit HKU Cooperative Education Programme (Co-op Programme) offers students a unique chance to gain real-world, paid work experience for 7 months or above*, supported by career training and coaching throughout the Programme’s journey. 
 
Both Local and Non-local students are encouraged to participate, with placement opportunities offered jointly by the HKU Business School, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Social Sciences, and more, during your non-final-year full-time undergraduate studies.

*Non-local students should follow the Immigration’s obligations regarding their eligibility.

The Co-op Career Preparation Modules are comprised of compulsory Training Module 1 & 2 and Coaching Module.

Training Module 1 & 2 serve as
prerequisites of the Co-op Programme while Coaching Module supports throughout your co-op programme journey. 

They are comprehensive training and coaching series intended to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful Cooperative Education experience.

Training Module 1

Essential

Training Module 1 consists of four compulsory sessions that will be offered in both the First and Second Semesters. It is a prerequisite for Module 2.

Through this training module, you will:​

  • Enhance self-discovery and explore various career paths for career planning

  • Improve CV writing, job search and application skills in the job selection process

Notes for Enrolment: ​

  1. In general, training sessions will be conducted face-to-face. Special arrangements may be available for students enrolling in the Co-op Placement from January to July/August 2025.

  2. All undergraduate students are welcome but only full-time students would be eligible for the Cooperative Education Programme. Final approval to enroll in the course will be subject to the discretion of the Faculty.

  3. You will receive a confirmation email if your enrolment is accepted.

  4. The programme details will be provided to enrolled participants through email.

  5. Enrolled participants who fail to complete the programme may be put in a lower priority for future programme enrolment.

  6. All the fields with ( * ) in this form are mandatory.

  7. As quota is limited, you are encouraged to enrol as soon as possible.
